A Recipe To Spice Things Up!

Last night I made a few different snacks in preparation for tonight’s private home screening of the movie, “Try It On Everything.”   The other practitioners is serving bio-dynamic wine and I am responsible for healthy treats!

I found a very easy recipe in Eating Well magazine that is worth sharing.   So easy and delicious!   Included in the recipe, I have shared my own notes….

Cumin-Roasted Almonds
source: EatingWell

Ingredients:
2 cups whole blanched almonds (I used about 1.5 cups)
2 tsp extra virgin olive oil (Paul Newman oil!)
2 tsp ground cumin (I used cumin seed which I think is the same thing)
1/2 tsp salt, or to taste (used the full 1/2 tsp of sea salt)
1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees.   Place almonds in a baking pan; toss with the olive oil, cumin seeds, sea salt and pepper.   Bake about 25 minutes (I did a little longer) until lightly toasted…toss if you’d like!   Let cool (they suggested a wire rack but this is not necessary).

Store in an airtight container!   These are a delicious treat and vary from the typical store-bought nut.   Enjoy!
