About Alison Held, M.S. Clinical Nutritionist:
My clients receive the best line of care possible. I make it a priority to stay up-to-date with the latest trends, scientific research and clinical applications. I hold a Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition from University of Bridgeport's Nutrition Institute and have studied under some of the most influential practitioners in holistic and integrative nutrition. I am a strong advocate for the Paleo Diet and I help educate my clients on this way of eating and living. There are so many myths out there about this diet and I help to unravel these. Everyone is an individual and being such, the Paleo model must be adapted to your own needs, desires, and state of health. The laboratory testing I offer can help my clients understand their unique biochemistry by realizing their unique needs (i.e. food intolerances and nutrient deficiencies).
The emotional component can also be connected to many common health complaints. However, many nutrition related practitioners never address this important aspect. Through my advanced training in the Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) and Psych-K, I am able to work closely with my clients to achieve this deeper level of healing.

I Walk My Talk:
You should know that I walk my talk. Prior to becoming a nutritionist, I worked one-on-one with local practitioners for many years to address a doctor's diagnosis of irritable bowel and other health complaints. Today I follow the Paleo Diet selecting and preparing the appropriate foods and ratios for my body. Everyday I am learning and I often use my body as my own experimental lab! I have undergone several different assessments (by way of labs, foods, testing, etc) and continue to do this in order to keep my health and happiness in check.
